Information Collection and Use

This privacy policy explains how WordSharp receives and protects payments, documents and personal information. WordSharp respects each client's right to personal privacy. Information is collected and used only as disclosed in this privacy policy.

Intellectual Property

The client maintains ownership and copyright over all materials. Additionally, WordSharp does not require credit or acknowledgement beyond the fees for services rendered. Although, it is a commonly accepted practice for some writers to credit WordSharp as their professional editor and this is, of course, always appreciated.

Submission Confidentiality and Security

WordSharp takes the issues surrounding classified and confidential documents and intellectual copyright very seriously. Only our editors and staff have access to a client’s submission. Each member of our team must sign a Confidentiality Agreement ensuring that they will not, under any circumstances, share documents with anyone outside of WordSharp. Therefore, WordSharp guarantees clients that no part of their text submitted for proofing or editing will be compromised, disclosed, appropriated by or shared with anyone for any reason whatsoever. Unless a client requests otherwise, all files are deleted after sixty days. If a client requires a separate non-disclosure agreement, they may contact WordSharp. Due to our strict confidentiality policies, WordSharp never releases the names of clients or the titles of edited materials.

Payment Security

WordSharp makes use of the most powerful and updated security measures including the industry standard in encryption (128-bit Secure Socket Layer). This is the highest level of security commercially available and is the same standard of security used in cash machines (ATMs) and by many retail stores. To protect your private information, we have partnered with PayPal, which provides one of the most trusted financial transaction systems on the Internet. The entire payment process is conducted through PayPal's secure website, which adheres to international PCI (payment card industry) compliance standards for data security. No banking information or credit card data is ever collected or stored by WordSharp. For information about how PayPal protects clients from unauthorized payments with their 24/7 fraud monitoring, visit the PayPal Security Center.

Furthermore, WordSharp may, at its discretion, discontinue or terminate operation of its website, services or trading name without notice at any time and for any reason.

A contract between WordSharp and the client commences as soon as the client has submitted payment for the service and WordSharp has received the payment. Once payment has been received, the client is confirming that the work is to commence.

Should the client wish to cancel the service once work has commenced, a credit will be applied to the client’s account. Refund of money paid is at the discretion of WordSharp and may exclude any associated cost incurred by WordSharp, including bank/transfer fees and administrator/editor costs.

The client is responsible for providing accurate and descriptive requirements to WordSharp at the time of submitting a job, or prior to a quote being issued. These requirements form the statement of work. Failure by the client to provide correct and accurate information in the statement of work may result in the cancellation of a transaction. Where a transaction is cancelled due to a breach of these Terms and Conditions, a refund will be offered to the client of all money paid less any associated cost incurred by WordSharp including bank/transfer fees and editor costs. The client assumes all responsibility for any problems, errors and issues, as well as legal liability resulting from an incorrect statement of work.

WordSharp reserves the right to cancel service to any client for any reason and without explanation. Account clients submitting work to WordSharp are responsible for paying the monthly invoice in full within fourteen days of the date of the invoice. Failure to meet this requirement may result in a termination of services by WordSharp and subsequent action to retrieve arrears.

Content of Submitted Materials

Clients are advised that plagiarism and breach of copyright are serious offenses. WordSharp reserves the right to decline service to anyone whose project involves the reworking of plagiarized content. In situations where copyright infringement or plagiarism is discovered or suspected after documents have been accepted for editing, clients are advised of the serious nature of said offenses and editing will not proceed.

While recognizing the right to free speech, WordSharp reserves the right to refuse to proofread, edit or create any documents that advocate or incite violence, hatred or discrimination in contravention of national and international laws.

The information contained in client documents edited by this service may include opinions or views that are not those of WordSharp or any person associated with this company. Special Projects and Express Service

Expedited turnaround times and special projects will incur an additional cost. Once a deposit has been made, any additional costs will be handled as a separate invoice and payment.

Late Fees

If a project is not paid in full by the specified deadline, WordSharp reserves the right to charge a late fee consisting of up to twenty-five percent of the total balance of a project's invoice.

This late fee may be increased monthly until payment is made in full. Late payments and non-payments will be pursued through a collection agency.

Deposits and Remaining Balances

A deposit is required before beginning work on a project; this may be waived for returning clients in good credit standing. Any remaining balance is due in full when the project is finished. For larger projects, payment may be broken into installments.
